GasRam™ for the SWAT Operator
Loading the Body
When loading the GasRam™ ensure that you are wearing an APR and have nomex or heavy leather gloves on. Never unscrew the fuse from a blast or instantaneous discharge grenade. These contain blasting caps and if they discharge while in your hand they could cause serious injury. If you are using a rubber ball or han ball grenade make sure it is not a distraction type device that you are handling. They look very similar and an accidental discharge could cause serious injury or death. KNOW YOUR DEVICES.
Step One - Carefully unscrew fuse from pyrotechnic grenade. Make sure before you start that the grenade is a pyrotechnic and not a blast grenade or a distraction device. When you do this, make sure you have hand and eye protection on. If you don't know the difference in grenades don't attempt this. If you choose the wrong type grenade you can be seriously injured.

Step Two - Prep fuse safety lever by shortening. You can either bend the lever up so it will clear the cap when you screw it into place or cut the handle off with tin snips..

Step Six - Screw cap onto body hand tight. Then back-off a quarter turn. Some agencies back it off a full turn which allows for agent to escape out the back. This allows for a visual reference to that you know your canister has expended its agent. The walls of the body are thick enough that you cannot hear the release of the agent.
